Founded in 1979 by George Whelan Snr, the business has developed extensive knowledge of the Irish plant and machinery market. In 1994, Whelan Plant Sales Ltd. was incorporated to distribute Hyundai Construction Equipment in Ireland, which remains its core product offering today. The company continues to act as the sole importer and distributor for the full range of Hyundai Construction Equipment in the Republic of Ireland. In addition, it is also an importer and distributor for Kubota Mini Excavators, loaders, mini telescopic loaders, RTV’s, Kubota mini tracked dumpers and Daemo Hydraulic Attachments, while maintaining an active presence in the international used equipment market.

The company is owner-managed by George Whelan Jnr and currently employs a team of 20+ staff, including dedicated personnel across service, parts, administration, and sales departments.
