Ice Expo Announcement
Cool Cat is proud to announce a new partnership with the Irish Cancer Society, marked by the unveiling of a powerful and eye-catching addition to its fleet—a brand-new Scania 660S V8 twin-wheel tag axle lorry, supplied by McElvaney Motors in Finglas.
In a bold and meaningful statement, the truck has been specially painted pink to raise awareness of cancer and to highlight the impact the disease has across Ireland. The initiative reflects a deeply personal and national reality: cancer affects every family in Ireland in some way.
Pat Hughes, Managing Director of Cool Cat, said:
“Cancer touches all of us—friends, families, colleagues. We wanted to use this opportunity not just to invest in our fleet, but to make a visible statement that sparks conversation and awareness across the country. This truck will be on the road every day, carrying an important message wherever it goes.”
As part of the partnership, Cool Cat has also committed to donating €1,000 per month to the Irish Cancer Society, helping to fund vital services and research. With over €4 million spent annually by the Society on cancer research alone, continued support is essential in improving outcomes and supporting those affected.
Sarah Valliere, representing the Irish Cancer Society, welcomed the initiative:
“This is an amazing initiative from Cool Cat. Not only does the truck raise awareness in such a visible and impactful way, but their ongoing monthly donation will directly support the work we do every day for patients and their families across Ireland.”
The new Scania 660S V8 stands as a symbol of strength, resilience, and community support—values shared by both Cool Cat and the Irish Cancer Society. Through this partnership, Cool Cat aims to contribute to a nationwide effort to raise awareness, fund research, and ultimately make a difference in the fight against cancer.
The team at Ice Expo are also delighted to announce that this striking new truck will be on display at the show on the 22nd and 23rd of May 2026, giving attendees the opportunity to see it up close and learn more about the initiative behind it.
